CountColon - a robot that adds text statistics to your blips
About
Word count, line count, paragraph count, character count and more to come soon. The idea is that at some point, CountColon will be able to count pretty much anything in a blip (like word occurances, edits, images, etc.). Like Google Wave itself, robots aren't stable at the moment so USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. CountColon could eat your waves, spit in your coffee, prank call your old math teacher - pretty much anything could happen (but it shouldn't, so please report any bugs to me via Twitter or Google Wave).
Usage
Step 1) Add countcolon@appspot.com to your contacts and add it as a participant to a wave.
Step 2) Write one of these codes anywhere in a line of text and it gets swapped with the desired count of the text in the current Blip.
[count: lines] - counts lines
[count: chars] - counts characters
[count: words] - counts words
[count: paras] - counts paragraphs
You can also combines these: [count: words, chars, paras]
And you can set a display option that tells the robot where he should put the output
[count: words display: inline] is the default, it switches the command with the text statistics
[count: words display: reply] makes the robot reply to the blip with the text statistics
[count: help] - displays a manual for the robot
[count: disable] - disables the robot in a blip
[count: version] - displays the current version of the robot
Step 3) Submit your blip (by clicking on the done button)
Step 4) There is no step 4. The robot should come in and count your text :)
